Dr. Sudha Ram is the Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor of MIS, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation at the Eller College of Management, University of Arizona. She is also the Director of INSITE: Center for Business Intelligence and Analytics at the University of Arizona. Dr. Ram received her PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in 1985 and her PGDM from IIM Calcutta in 1981. She is internationally acclaimed for her research, which develops and applies methods such as machine learning, statistical approaches, ontologies, and conceptual modeling. Dr. Ram has published more than 250 research articles and has received over $70 million in research funding from both corporate sources and government agencies. She delivered a TEDx talk in December 2013 titled “Creating a Smarter World with Big Data.” In 2018, she received the prestigious AIS Fellow Award from the Association for Information Systems. Dr Sudha Ram regularly donates her time to several non-profit organisations through fundraising and volunteer work. She has served as a founding board member of the Mahaganapati Temple of Arizona since 2002. From 1997 to 2007, she taught Hindi to children aged 3–12 at the Krishna Temple in Phoenix and taught bhajans to children at the Sai Center of Tucson. She has also worked with high school students from Native American and African American communities to help develop their interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
