IIM Calcutta proudly awards the honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa)  to the Honourable Dr. S. Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, Government of India. The award is presented by Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, the Director of IIM Calcutta, along with Mr. Srikrishna Kulkarni, the Chairperson of the Board of Governors. During the event, Dr. Jaishankar articulates compelling insights on emerging technologies, underscores the critical need for national preparedness, and strategically defines India's priorities for the future. The Institute expresses its gratitude for his inspiring address and for honouring the occasion with his presence.

Roy Memorial Library, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, has respectfully paid heartfelt tribute on the birth anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the visionary physician, freedom fighter, and architect of modern West Bengal. He has also been fondly remembered as the first Chairman of the B. C. Roy Memorial Library at IIM Calcutta.

The programme has been graciously attended by Prof. Ravindran Rajesh Babu, Dean (Executive Education), IIM Calcutta; Prof. Peeyush Mehta, IIM Calcutta; Dr. Narayan Chandra Ghosh, Librarian, B. C. Roy Memorial Library, IIM Calcutta; and Prof. Parthasarathi Mukhopadhyay, Department of Library and Information Science, University of Kalyani, along with other officers and staff members of the Institute.

Together, they have honoured Dr. Roy’s enduring legacy of service, compassion, and visionary nation-building and an inspiring legacy that has continued to guide generations and illuminate the path of knowledge, healthcare, and public service.
