The participants represent members of the JEDP and the first-year PGP batch of IIM Calcutta, reflecting the Institute’s early academic environment and institutional spirit.
The image brings together a distinguished group of faculty members and associates who played a significant role in shaping the formative years of IIM Calcutta. Seated in the front row (from left to right) are: Prof. Alfred (Organization), Prof. Shiv Gupta (Quantitative Methods), Prof. Warren Bennis (Behavioural Sciences), Registrar Major (Retd.) Krishnaswamy, Prof. Glen D. Camp (Quantitative Methods), Prof. J. K. Sengupta (Economics), outgoing PGP Programme Director John Wynne, an unidentified participant (likely associated with JEDP), incoming PGP Programme Director Prof. Barun De (History), Prof. Gaurongo Chattopadhyaya (Behavioural Sciences), Prof. Suresh Srivastava (Behavioural Sciences), Prof. Ishwar Dayal (Organization), Guest Prof. Rabadi (Accounting and Finance), and Prof. Kanungo (Behavioural Sciences).

Several prominent members of the Institute were absent from the photograph, including Director K. T. Chandy, Prof. Krishnamoorthy (Quantitative Methods), Prof. Miles Kennedy (Information Systems/Accounting & Finance), Prof. Balakrishnan (Behavioural Sciences), Prof. John Thomas (Organization), and Prof. Ravi Mathai (Marketing). Many of these individuals joined the Institute at a later stage.
