Ms. Ramya Venkataraman is founder and CEO of Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA) Private Limited, co-founded with her batchmate from IIM Calcutta. A teacher certification organization, CENTA, in 5 years, is already serving 2 lakh teachers across 6000 locations and fundamentally impacting teacher careers, competencies and effectiveness. NITI Aayog and United Nations have recognized Ramya among 15 Women Transforming India. Education World has listed her among 50 leaders reviving India's education. She is an Ashoka Fellow, a global network of social entrepreneurs. She has been recognized by Economic Times and Peabody Journal, USA. Prior to founding CENTA, Ramya had a 15-year corporate career with McKinsey & Company, which she joined from campus. After working across sectors for 10 years, she decided to pursue her long-standing passion and built the firm's education practice. She was instrumental in public-private partnerships in Indian education and helped set up a few national level organizations. In IIM Calcutta, Ramya was one of the earliest women to be Commander-in-Chief of OH in World War and was part of Baro-C and XL-IIMC meets, interests that remain part of her life! Ramya also holds a B.Tech. from IIT Delhi.
