Professor Palepu is the Ross Graham Walker Professor of Business Administration, and Senior Associate Dean for International Development at Harvard Business School since 1983. He has a doctorate in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, and an Honorary Doctorate from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. In addition to his academic position, He is also the Senior Advisor to the President for Global Strategy at Harvard University. He previously served as Senior Associate Dean for International Development at Harvard Business School, overseeing the school's research, and its global initiative. He is a world-renowned scholar in the area of strategy and governance with numerous publications in leading journals and a distinguished carrier in USA in the areas of teaching and research. His research primarily focuses on strategy in emerging markets, financial analysis, and governance. He has also been on the Editorial Boards of leading academic journals, and has served as a consultant to a wide variety of businesses. He also teaches in several HBS executive education programs aimed at members of corporate boards. His work in governance focuses on board engagement with strategy and has a chapter on this topic in his recently published book, The Future of Boards.
