Topic:
Revised Rates of Dearness Allowance
Description:
The correspondence acknowledges a Government of India notification (Office Memorandum No.1(9)-E.II(B)/67 dated 11th September 1967) forwarded via the Ministry of Education regarding revised dearness allowance (DA) rates. It outlines the revised DA applicable from 1st February 1967 and 1st July 1967, categorized by salary slabs. The letter notes that arrears from 1st February 1967 to 31st August 1967 are to be credited to employees' Provident Fund Accounts starting 1st September 1967.
The Administrator also refers to the Board of Governors' decision (dated 9th July 1964) to follow Central Government rules on pay and allowances. The financial implication of these changes for the institute is Rs. 34,000 for the fiscal year 1967–68, which they aim to manage within the existing budget.
The matter was discussed with Shri G.N. Vaswani on 19th September, where he agreed on the revised payment with effect from September 1967.
