- Son of Ardeshir Nowroji and Tehmina.
- Educated at the London School of Economics (MA, MSc, Doctorate).
- Joined Tata Administrative Services in 1956 and held various roles including Coordinating Officer (Dept. of Econ & Stats), Economic Adviser, and eventually Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of several Tata companies like Alunedabad Advance Mills and Tata Precision Industries in Singapore.
- Director in several companies, including Tata Sons, Tata Industries, Tata Oil Mills, and others.
- Active in various organizations such as the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and the local advisory board of Banque Nationale de Paris.

- Chairman of Krishak Bharati Cooperative Ltd, New Delhi, and Director of Bank of Baroda.
- Imprisoned during the Quit India Movement.
- Served as General Secretary of the Refugees Fund, DPCC, and was a member of the Nail Railway.
